Madhya Pradesh Loudspeaker Ban

After assuming office as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav led the first state cabinet meeting, emphasizing adherence to the Madhya Pradesh Loudspeaker Ban. The cabinet resolved to strictly enforce sound amplifiers, including loudspeakers and DJs, as per prescribed standards at religious and other venues. Flying squads will monitor noise pollution and illegal loudspeaker use in all districts, aligning with the Madhya Pradesh Noise Control Act, Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules 2000, and guidelines from the Supreme Court and the High Court, which prohibit loudspeakers at high volumes without permission.

In every district, the flying squad, in accordance with the Madhya Pradesh Loudspeaker Ban, will conduct regular and random inspections of religious and public places. In case of rule violations, investigations will be completed within three days, and a report will be submitted to the relevant authority. Emphasizing coordination with religious leaders to voluntarily remove loudspeakers, the decision aligns with the provisions of the Madhya Pradesh Noise Control Act and the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules 2000, following guidelines issued by both the Supreme Court and the High Court. A list of religious places not adhering to these rules will be compiled and reviewed weekly at the district level, with compliance reports mandated to be submitted to the Home Department by December 31.
